Where Kizuki Leads, Healing Follows
July 9, 2025.
In a world where stress, pain, and disconnection have become almost a part of everyday life, the need for gentle, evidence-based approaches to healing feels more essential than ever. Yoga Therapy is one of those approaches—a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern science, offering a holistic way to support the body, mind, and spirit.
Unlike a typical yoga class that focuses mainly on movement, Yoga Therapy is individualized. Each session is designed around a client’s unique needs, whether it’s recovering from an injury, managing anxiety, or simply learning to feel at home in one’s own body again. It combines breathwork, mindful movement, and self-inquiry to create a therapeutic process that honors the whole person.
We move through this therapeutic experience guided by the ancient philosophy of yoga and the lens of yoga as a way of seeing ourselves and the world.
My own journey to Yoga Therapy began in 2020 when I faced two major health challenges that made me re-evaluate everything about how I was living. I started with simple evening stretches to relieve pain and improve my sleep. Over time, these small practices became a gateway to deeper study and self-discovery.
Eventually, I traveled to India in the winter of 2023 to become a certified yoga instructor, determined to understand the roots of these practices firsthand. I began teaching yoga in senior living communities and local classes in Portland, where I witnessed how even gentle movement and breath awareness could transform people’s daily experience. As I saw the impact, my passion for therapeutic applications of yoga grew stronger.
Today, I am continuing my education as a yoga therapist-in-training. I believe this work is not about perfection or performance. It’s about creating space—a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal in their own way and at their own pace.
I am honored to offer Yoga Therapy sessions as part of my practicum. Whether you are curious about working together, or simply exploring what this approach might look like, I welcome you here.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
